LE LUNETIER St-Jérôme is looking for a dispensing optician to complete its dynamic team!
The mission of the dispensing optician is to meet the client’s oculo-visual needs through ophthalmic and/or corneal lenses. In close collaboration with the optometrist, the person ensures the adjustment of ametropia, laboratory sizing as well as the first step in resolving a visual problem with a client.
Availability: as soon as possible | Type of employment: Full or part time
Salary to be discussed based on experience
Open 2 evenings/week (Tuesday and Thursday) | Closed on weekends

As a dispensing optician you will have to…
- Evaluate the customer’s needs (frames, ophthalmic or contact lenses);
- Explain the different products on the market based on customer needs;
- Explain the different promotions in order to guide the customer in their decision-making process; –
- Support the stylist advisor after choosing a frame (if necessary);
- Take the necessary measurements to manufacture the complete scope;
- Analyze the prescription: basic curvature, vertex distance, pantoscopic angle and curve;
- Perform minor and major repairs on glasses;
- Carry out problem resolutions, either at the customer’s comfort level or at the visual level;
- Carry out the cutting-assembly;
- Make customer adjustments;
- Ensure the opening of contact lens files or renewals: select the ideal lens according to the customer’s needs, explain the operations for the first time, update the customer’s techniques if necessary, refresh the maintenance methods, take measurements, carry out follow-ups, resolve problems either at the comfort level or at the visual level;
To get this job, you must…
- Have your college diploma in visual orthotics;
- Be a member of the Order of Dispensing Opticians of Quebec;
- Have the ability to work in a team and under pressure;
- Be customer oriented;
- Be punctual, motivated, resourceful and autonomous.
