The Assistant Optometrist’s role is to prepare for the optometrist’s eye exam, performing complementary tests with the customer.

What’s a day at LE LUNETIER like as an Assistant Optometrist?

He/she greets the customer and ensures that he/she is taken care of by the right professional. He/she prepares the pre-test room to welcome the customer for complementary tests to the eye exam, and enters the necessary customer information and test results into the computer system.

Other Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Direct customer according to reason for presence;
  • Announce customer’s arrival to contact person;
  • Ensure the client’s wellbeing;
  • Enter or update customer details in the computer system;
  • Book optometry and optician appointments;
  • Answer the telephone, screen calls;
  • Take messages and forward them to the correct contact;
  • Provide basic information on services over the phone or to walk-ins;
  • Ensure that customer calls are made in a timely manner when their glasses are ready;
  • Take payments/transactions: exam, form, deposit or full payment of orders for glasses, contact lenses and other products;
  • Close the cash register at the end of the day;
  • Ensure cleanliness of premises;
  • Help your colleagues as needed;
  • Any other tasks required for the smooth running of the office.
